Café Ristretto: 5 characteristics that will make you drink Café Ristretto

Although there are many types, taking Café Ristretto is different from others. It definitely has its captive audience, who chooses it, always.
This variant of espresso is characterized by having the same amount of coffee as the previous one but using a smaller proportion of water .

How about cutting your morning of work or study with a rich but powerful touch of caffeine?

Chances are that you are used to much softer types of coffee, or stores to combine it with a little milk. Well, the Ristretto has nothing to do with that, nothing!

Drinking Coffee Ristretto is for the brave! 5 characteristics

1 | What does Café Ristretto mean?

The word "Ristretto" comes from Italian and its translation into Spanish means "short" or "limited". That is why the quantity served is less than usual.

2 | It is much more concentrated than another type of coffee
Since a standard measure of coffee is used but with half the water, that makes it more concentrated. It is characterized by having a dark color like oil.

3 | Little acidity
Because only the first part is extracted, it does not become acidic as it happens in another style of coffee.

4 | The balance makes the difference
When you take a Café Ristretto you will see that its compounds are the ones that are extracted more quickly.

5 | A small cup is used
Unlike another type of coffee, the right thing to do here is to use a much smaller, tiny cup.

How to prepare a ristretto

A ristretto is half a single dose of espresso (about 15ml or 0.5 oz). In other parts of the world it is known as "short black" and simply as "short" in Italy. Not being an espresso at all, it is usually a denser, honey-like coffee.

one
Get some freshly roasted espresso beans. The cream of the espresso is due to the CO2 gases contained in the grains and these disappear as the grains are less fresh. The traditional style of the north of Italy is the roast medium, while in the south of Italy the burnt and oily-looking grain is traditional. The more burnt grains enhance the toasted flavor, while those of medium and softer roasts result in a more sweet and floral tone. The flavor of the less roasted beans fades faster, so it is likely to get a more consistent result from a darker roast. Experience!
