CAFÉ MACCHIATO: HOW TO PREPARE A PROFESSIONAL CAFÉ MACCHIATO AT HOME

What is a Café Macchiato
The name "Macchiato" in Italian means "marked", that is, it "marks" the espresso with vaporized milk. The Latte Macchiato is served in a glass. The drink stays in layers, with the liquid milk in the bottom, the espresso in the middle and the foam floating on top.

It is also known as cut or stained coffee, which literally means its name in the Italian language.

This type of drink was born in that country in the sixteenth century, and is a coffee that is basically prepared by layers, for this reason it is always served in a transparent glass or glass cup so that they become visible, since it is its main attraction.

Like the other types of coffee, it usually has many variations depending on each barista or each zone, but the most classic version is composed of the combination of espresso, caramel and steamed milk. However, some prefer to use foamed milk or heavy cream.

Many times a few drops of vanilla and sugar are added to taste, although coffee specialists point out that it is unnecessary since the preparation is already sweet enough on its own.

Its name refers to the idea of staining espresso with milk and although it seems complicated, the secret of this drink is in the different densities of its components.

To prepare it, pour the hot milk into the glass, then the milk foam and finally the coffee, taking care that each one floats on the other.
